I love designing wedding invitations. In my former life, I worked in Marketing Communications with a heavy emphasis on graphic design and print production. I enjoy the design process and creating something beautiful.
Liza and Neil trusted me to create their fall wedding invitation. At our first meeting, Liza and her mother came armed with inspiration pieces which gave me a real sense of what they liked and didn't like. The wheels in my head started turning immediately. I created 5 invitation samples and after some mixing and matching, we decided on the pieces below.
It was such a pleasure to work with Liza and her mom, Sue. Working with such wonderful brides and mothers truly makes my job a treat! Below is the lovely e-mail I received from Sue.
THANK YOU for your beautiful contribution to making this wedding a
beautiful celebration. Your artistry was a truly unexpected gift that
exceeded our expectations. Your work sets the scene for the event that
unfolds and there is no way to measure how much excitement and
anticipation your creation creates! Your kind helpfulness made the
decision making a fun process, not a chore, and you handle every detail
with professionalism and promptness.

Linda + Mike = Beautiful Wedding Day
Arizona provided the perfect backdrop to Linda and Mike's intimate wedding. They commissioned me write their seating chart. After framing it in a beautiful frame (found by the bride at none other than Hobby Lobby), the chart was carefully positioned among wedding flowers and candles. The elegant table welcomed guests and set the mood for an enchanted evening.

Black & White and Wed All Over
It's always so much fun to see wedding trends in wedding stationery. It seems there are always a couple new fonts that I see over and over again each wedding season and popular colors (purple, a personal favorite, is popping up everywhere). But never before have I seen an envelope color take over weddings the way black and dark gray has!
I just finished my sixth set of black/dark gray envelopes, and I have another set ready to start tonight! And as always, what I love about my job, is that each bride who has chosen to use such a dramatic envelope has selected a very different calligraphy style for each. No two brides have requested the same calligraphy style and a couple have even requested custom styles.
I thought I'd share a few photos of 3 of these sets and perhaps provide some additional inspiration for another trendy bride!

The Knot Chicago Magazine
Everyone needs to pick up The Knot Chicago's Fall/Winter Magazine! Not only is it packed with oodles of wedding goodness, but it includes a little wedding inspiration from yours truly. Yes, one of my envelopes can be found on page 40!
The envelope is a beautiful navy color with silver ink giving it a very regal look. It's fun to include your wedding color somewhere other than the bridesmaid dresses and flowers. You can show off your color of choice by selecting envelopes that match. And navy is a color that is so classic, it can be used for a wedding set any time of the year.

Elizabeth Anne Designs Blog
I'm so excited to be included on Elizabeth Anne Designs blog! And by the
way, this wedding was even more special because it was a family member (she's
the beautiful one in the wedding gown)!
I am attaching some quick pics of Cammy and Kris' wedding invitations as well. They wanted everything very simple and elegant thus the black on black. I was thrilled to help them make their wedding day even more special.

May I show you to your seat...
Katie and Rob chose to create a custom Seating Scroll to direct guests to their seats. Rather than escort cards, the Naurath's decided
to have a seating chart with each guest's name and the table they were seated. They chose to add artwork to the top of the chart that reflected the style of their wedding and a border around edge because they weren't framing it. It turned out beautifully and is something
they can keep forever!
I create seating charts by first writing the chart, scanning it in and then maneuvering the elements around to make it perfect. This allows for the couple to review everything to make sure the seating arrangement as well as guests names are correct. This also gives the couple the opportunity to add artwork to match their invitation or wedding style. I then have it printed in what ever format they prefer. It makes for a flawless seating chart and a special keepsake from their wedding day

Picture-Perfect Save-the-Date
Bride Kari has always enjoyed being creative. She is a graphic designer by day and an encaustic painter in her free time. It was really exciting for her to have the opportunity to work on her own wedding materials! For her save-the-date, Kari created a gorgeous vintage postcard and placed it inside an envelope to avoid getting lost in the mail. She incorporated her love for letterpress and calligraphy. She was drawn to letterpress and traditional printing techniques but also greatly valued the art of hand-drawn calligraphy.
That is where I came in! In addition to addressing the envelopes, Kari asked me to write a few words to include on their save-the-date postcard. What was created is what you see here! The final product is Kari's picture-perfect design.

South African Wedding
Once again, I had a bride ask me to create a custom calligraphy style for her wedding invitations. I LOVE when brides think outside the box! This custom style was created for a Massachusetts bride marrying her South African groom IN South Africa, and I loved the way I turned out. There is something about an added flourish that makes an envelope go from special to super special!
